Martin Smith Wants to Punish the Working Class With Multicuturalism

First posted: 10th February, 2011

This statement in support of multiculturalism – aren’t we all? – is pretty basic. Trots like Martin Smith like it ‘simple’ and ‘crude’ otherwise they wouldn’t get first-year students to do the hard work for them. That’s what they want and understand – the simple and the crude.

Martin Smith says that Cameron's death-of-multiculturalism speech was ‘a statement of intent’? What does that mean? That white Tory boys are about to go all-out with Brown Exotics - the Muslims? That the ‘victims’ of Evil Capitalism will now be blamed for everything (like 'Zionists')? Come on Smitty. Grow up. You’re not a student anymore. You’re a diseased old man.
Actually, it is largely Muslims who've given multiculturalism a bad name. There wouldn’t be so many problems if it weren’t for Islamic self-apartheid and supremacism. Islam or Muslims are ‘good for multiculturalism, Diversity and Community Cohesion’ in the way the Nazis were good for these abstractions.

But why is everything Martin Smith, and his former SWP-ers, write so extreme? Is it because only leftist extremism appeals to dumb first-year students and older psychopaths like Martin Smiff himself? Everything is so damned black and white and absolute. Yes, like the rhetoric of Islam. (Because Marxism is a religion.)

And what a nice and convenient parallel – the one Martin Smiff draws between the miners and Islamists. Except that the miners weren’t seen as an ‘alien culture’ as Smitty contends – even if you hated them, they were still as British as bangers and mash. The Islamists, on the other hand, want nothing from British culture. They hate it with intensity. It doesn’t matter whether the Government is left or right, as it did with the miners – all ‘man-made law’ and government is reprehensible to the Islamist.

Martin Smith then talks a lot about those who attempt to ‘divide society’ or divide the working class. That is, the Marxist cliché written a thousands times. Yet Smitty himself is the best divider of communities – he has nothing but hatred for all to the right of Pol Pot. He divides for a living. That is the essence of his Trotskyism. Part of his divisiveness is his love of violence – or ‘mobilisation’.
Yes, an ex-SWP talking about EDL violence! The audacity – the hypocrisy of this man. There are many reports in the Internet of Martin Smith punching and fighting fellow far leftists for misinterpreting the second sentence of the third paragraph of Trotsky’s Kill Capitalists! Have you seen photos of this man? He looks like a sad and perverted psychotic – perfect for Trotskyism!

Extreme leftist dogma and rigidity has done more to destroy the dream of multiculturalism than anything… outside of Islam. You get the impression, from multiculturalists like Smitty, that they want to punish the British working class with multiculturalism – to show us what’s really good for us. And what’s good for us is what middle-class Guardianistas say is good for us. They are the contemporary equivalents of those oh-so-condescending Fabians of yore.

So to finally state the EDL's 'intent'.

We are not against Difference or the Other, as Continental philosophers and Madeline Bunting have it.

We are simply against pernicious Difference and pernicious Otherness.

Can’t these people realise that there is a difference? The EDL is not against the Other that is Buddhism. The Other that is Sikhism… The list is endless. We are against Islamism and militant Islam. Are you getting the message yet, Smitty?

Martin Smith's (UAF) statement on Cameron's death-of-multiculturalism speech, 'More division over multiculturalism', from the Guardian:

We believe David Cameron's statement that multiculturalism has failed was a dangerous declaration of intent. His speech was reminiscent of Margaret Thatcher's infamous 1978 statement that Britain was "being swamped by alien cultures". He has branded Britain's Muslims as the new "enemy within" in the same way as Thatcher attacked the miners and trade unions.

David Cameron is attempting to drive a wedge between different communities by linking Britain's multicultural society with terrorism and national security. His speech was made on the same day as the English Defence League brought its bigotry and violence to the streets of Luton. Mr Cameron's aim is simple as it is crude – to deflect the anger against his government's cuts from the bankers and on to the Muslim community. The prime minister is aping attacks by other European leaders like France's Nicolas Sarkozy, who passed legislation banning the veil, and Angela Merkel, who has also made statements denouncing multiculturalism in Germany. We believe our multicultural society and the respect and solidarity it is built on is a cause for pride, and reject any moves by this government to undermine and destroy it.

We must not allow this coalition government to turn the tide back to the days when it was acceptable, through ignorance and fear, for people with a different religion, culture or skin colour to be scapegoated and treated as inferior or outsiders.
